This large property was once the Quartermaster’s house in a terrace of former coastguard cottages. It has recently been refurbished by the owners, who have a flair for interior design. In fact, everything in this house has been crafted in the UK, from the paint and the wallpaper on the walls, right through to the cutlery and china on the table!

Many Period and Character Touches

This is a superb, sympathetic renovation, with many period and character touches, colour schemes, quirky furnishings and fabrics. Just look at the light switches!

It’s a large and comfortable house, which sleeps seven, with four charming bedrooms in total; two downstairs (a double and a twin), and two upstairs (a double and a large single). It has a lovely dining room with south facing window to the patio and large garden.

There is also a compact, but well equipped kitchen including a dishwasher!

Cosy wood-burning stove

One the highlights of the Quartermaster’s House is the upstairs sitting room- with comfy sofas and a cosy wood-burning stove, you can relax and take in the views out across the sands of East Bay to the Bass Rock. The family bathroom is also upstairs with a nice freestanding bath and separate shower. There’s also another shower-room next door.

Quartermaster’s large holiday house North Berwick is a superb holiday house packed full of character next to the sea, ideal for families or groups of friends. The location is second to none, just across the road from the sandy beach with sea views and a large south facing walled garden.

Take a boat trip from the harbour (March–Oct) to the Bass Rock and Isle of May. There’s a range of different wildlife throughout the seasons! Look out for the puffins in early summer.
