Annie, who refurbished the cottage a few years ago, has a real flair for design and the superb furnishings and fittings reflect this. It combines the old atmosphere of its former life as a Shepherd’s bothy with luxurious contemporary design.
Located on the Ardgour Estate only 5 minutes from the Corran Ferry in picturesque woodland, it’s only a short walk to the shores of Loch Linnhe. Cuil Moss is just the place to unwind and relax with you other half.
The stylish open plan living area has a slate floor, cosy woodburner, comfy sofa and well equipped kitchen. There’s a discreet wall mounted TV with DVD player and WIFI.

The bedroom and bathroom looks and feels like a suit in upmarket hotel. The large comfy four poster style king size bed has crisp white linen and luxurious towels accompanied by fluffy white robes. The adjacent bathroom just oozes style, with Highland Soaps, mood lighting, double ended Jacuzzi bath and rain shower.

From the lounge, the large glass doors open out onto a sheltered terrace – perfect for relaxing and catching some sunshine. The garden also has a viewing area with stunning vistas to Ben Nevis. But the outdoor highlight is the stargazing tower, which you access by a woodland path lit by twinkling lights. It’s a magical spot and with its own tiny woodburner and whistling kettle, you can easily spend a few hours watching the stars or looking for pine martins and badgers. There’s loads of attractive birdlife on the feeders too.
The owners take their environmental responsibilities seriously on the beautiful but fragile highland estate and the have Green Tourism Gold award for their environment good practice.

Cuil Moss Cottage is an incredible luxury cottage with 5-star facilities set amongst wonderful mountain and coastal scenery. It’s perfect for a romantic escape and a brilliant base for exploring the delights of Ardnamurchan and the west coast.
Ardgour, with its dramatic coastal and mountain scenery, is ideal for walking. Take a short stroll to Salachan Beach to enjoy the magnificent views across the loch to Glencoe, and up to mighty Ben Nevis. There are maps and lots of ideas for walks in the folder in the house or just ask Annie for suggestions.
Hillwalkers could explore Garbh Bheinn (885 metres) one of the finest Corbett’s in Scotland with stunning views over Loch Linnhe to Mull and beyond. Or you could head to the Mamores for some superb ridge walks or even Ben Nevis, the highest peak in Scotland.
Why not just chill out in the wildlife tower in the woods? You’ll be glued to your binoculars. Ardgour has an amazing array of wildlife including red deer, foxes, badgers, red squirrels and if your lucky, otters and pine martins. For twitchers there are sea eagles, golden eagles, peregrine falcons, ptarmigan, grouse, snipe, woodpeckers and more!
If you like photography and have a decent camera, how about a day with a local Gillie (gamekeeper) camera stalking? This can be arranged through the estate by Annie.
Enjoy a day fly fishing on the local River Gour with an experienced guide. A great day out.
Explore the wilds of Ardnamurchan, go for a leisurely drive along the single-track roads through wonderful scenery and visit the famous lighthouse the most westerly point on the mainland.
Head up the Nevis Range Gondola to take in the mountain views. There’s mountain biking and a high-wire treetop course too.
Make for beach! Plan a day trip to the wonderful sandy beaches at Arisaig, about an hour away from the house. Alternatively, take the scenic drive through Ardnamurchan to the legendary Sanna Bay.
Visit the NTS Glenfinnan Monument and hear about the 1745 Jacobite Rebellion. You can also stop here to watch the steam train cross the striking viaduct made famous in the Harry Potter films.
