Luxurious, interiors & Top Facilities

We stayed in Somerled, a five star, three bedroom property with great facilities. It has a traditional-looking croft exterior that is sympathetic with its surroundings and inside boasts luxurious, interiors including floor to ceiling windows in the lounge with spectacular mountain views.

Somerled Cottage is named after the Lord of the Isles. A towering figure in Scottish history, famous for chasing the Vikings out of the Hebrides!

We arrived after an enjoyable journey along some single track roads through stunning mountain and loch scenery to be met with a warm Highland welcome, fresh flowers and a handy hamper with bread, milk, jam and fantastic home baked fruit loaf.

Lots of really nice artwork

The cottage is spacious and all on one level, which makes is highly accessible. It’s been a labour of love by the owners and tastefully decorated throughout with quality furniture and interiors, including lots of really nice artwork. The lounge boasts a large log burner and comfy sofas to take in the view from the huge windows. It has plenty of home comforts; TV, DVD player and a selection of books and games.

 Lovely Highland Stoneware crockery

The large kitchen is really well-equipped and includes dishwasher, hob, electric oven, and microwave. Everything is top quality including really lovely Highland Stoneware crockery. This good sized room forms a natural hub for the house and is perfect for cooking and entertaining with a large dining table, Bluetooth speaker and open fire. We ordered some seafood from Susan the really friendly and helpful owner and she arranged a delivery of super fresh langoustines from a local fisherman. A real highlight of our stay!

The sleeping arrangements are second to none, the good sized en-suite bedrooms are two doubles and one twin. The beds are super comfy too. The bathrooms have top of the range facilities, fluffy robes, spa baths and showers and a selection of Scottish soaps.
