The former boathouse, built in 1855, has been totally refurbished and updated with superb facilities and is the perfect bolthole for a romantic escape or even your honeymoon!
It’s an interesting mix of the traditional and contemporary, with the lounge featuring stone-clad walls with character fireplace, as well as a plasma screen TV. It has lavish furnishings throughout. The balcony offers views over the mature woodlands and trout fishing ponds. There is a compact but well-equipped dining kitchen with oven, hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine.
Luxurious Master Bedroom
The downstairs master bedroom includes a ‘Tempur’ NASA designed and adjustable bed, with surround sound system, while the luxurious en-suite bathroom features a large Jacuzzi bath for two. The French windows in the bedroom open onto the waterside balcony, where you can enjoy a drink or even a meal.

The boathouse is located on the Forbes of Kingennie Country Resort, which is ideal for golf and fishing. The on-site Waterside restaurant has timber-decked balconies and terraces overlooking the fishing ponds. There is also The Cairn o’ Mount Bar next door, serving a wide range of beers, spirits and snacks.

Visit the nearby coastal town of Arbroath to explore the historic Abbey, made famous by the Declaration of Arbroath in 1320. The harbour area is worth wandering around and you must pick up some delicious Arbroath Smokies.
Dundee is only a short drive away. Follow in the footstep of Captain Scott at Discovery Point and RSS Discovery. This fascinating visitor centre and historic ship is well worth a visit.
Head over to the DCA (Dundee Contemporary Arts Centre) and take in an exhibition or go shopping – they have some nice handcrafted jewellery and quirky ceramics and textiles. Jute Café Bar is good for lunch too.
