Wee Howf

Wee Howf

The Wee Howf luxury glamping for couples. A very special hideaway for couples, set on a Perthshire farm overlooking its lochan and with panoramic views over the Ochil hills.

Stylish One Bedroom Cabin

This stylish one-bedroom cabin is the perfect ‘glamping’ retreat. Built on stilts among young trees and overlooking a lochan, it’s unique! There’s no electricity or wifi – just a wood burner, gas camping stove and loads of candles. This all adds to the charm and helps create the Wee Howf’s special get-away-from-it-all atmosphere.

Charming Interior

The cabin boasts a charming bijou interior, including a tiny bistro dining area, basket chairs next to the fire and a really comfy double bed. Looking out to the lochan with a glass in hand or lying in the bed listening to the birdsong and burn flowing below, this is the perfect place to unwind. It’s really warm and cosy, and the wood burning stove creates a surprising amount of heat.

Tastefully Decorated

The owners have an eye for interior design with the inside of the cabin very tastefully kitted out.

One of the highlights is the ‘fridge in the burn’ – lower and raise your bottle via the pully from the burn below. Since this is ‘glamping’, it’s a 5-minute walk through the farm and lovely gardens to the Wash Howf (toilet, shower room, washing up area with fridge freezer and small shop).

This is no hardship as the facilities are clean and well thought out.

The cooking equipment in the cabin is a cut above conventional camping, or you can cook outside on the fire pit, listening to the sounds on the farm … jumping trout in the lochan, Highland coos, Soay sheep, ponies, chickens and even turkeys!

Friendly Owners

The welcoming and friendly owners seem to have thought of everything to ensure a comfy stay, even binoculars and a bird watching book for watching the local wildlife. Don’t forget towels and torch though!

The Wee Howf is something special; certainly the poshest camping experience we have ever had. The lochside setting on a charming rural farm make it the perfect bolthole for a romantic escape for two.

Perfect Days

Take a trip to the nearby Drummond Castle gardens, stunning formal parterre gardens, unlike anything else in Scotland and well worth a visit.

Go for lunch with the neighbours. Andy Murray’s new luxury hotel, Cromlix House offers spectacular eating at Chez Roux only 5 minutes away!

Explore nearby Dunblane, with its spectacular cathedral and fascinating museum. You can, of course, get your picture taken next to Andy Murray’s golden postbox!

There are loads of top class golf courses nearby, including iconic Gleneagles; just ask Ian, the owner, for some local advice.

Enjoy a lazy day by the lochan or in the gardens of the farm. Get some free range eggs from the bottom of the drive or enjoy a lunchtime BBQ on the firepit.

Take a drive to nearby Stirling, with so much to see and do. Explore the Castle, one of the best in Scotland, discover the National Wallace Monument or take an Old Town Walking Tour.

Departing from Cowane’s Hospital, local costumed guides offer an entertaining mix of comedy, storytelling and drama.
